MTP UN Grandmasters World Record welcomes Euronews as media partner
On the 6th of June 2026, Euronews joined MTP to celebrate an extraordinary unofficial UN Grandmasters world record, bringing together one of the largest gatherings of people who have visited every country in the world, all in one place.
This remarkable reunion represents a major milestone in MTP’s journey and global community. For the first time, individuals who have completed travel to all 193 UN-recognised countries came together to share their experiences, perspectives, and personal stories from every corner of the planet.
What makes this gathering especially unique is that no two journeys are the same. Some travellers spent decades reaching all 193 countries, while others completed the challenge in only a few years. Some travelled on luxury budgets, others backpacked with almost nothing. Among the group are adventurers, diplomats, entrepreneurs, photographers, humanitarian workers, and explorers, each with a completely different relationship to travel, culture, and the world itself.
Euronews documented and compiled these unique stories, capturing not only the achievement of reaching every country, but also the deeper human experiences behind the milestone. The project explores how global travel can shape identity, challenge perceptions, and connect people across cultures, languages, and political borders.
In an increasingly divided world, the gathering offers a rare perspective: a community of individuals whose collective experiences span every nation on Earth. Their stories reveal how differently people live, think, celebrate, struggle, and connect — while also highlighting the surprising similarities that unite humanity across continents.
The event is not only a celebration of extreme travel achievement, but also a reflection on curiosity, resilience, cultural understanding, and the changing meaning of global exploration in the modern era.
