Hello Everyone!
For those of you chasing 193, did you know that there is an annual gathering which includes many of the most traveled people in the world, and whose attendees almost all have been to 193+? The meeting is called ETIC, the Extreme Traveler International Congress, and it was started by Kolja Spöri in 2008. You can read more about ETIC here. I've been to almost all of them, and it's a very good time - a place where everyone understands and appreciates your travel stories - and where everyone can learn a thing or two.
This year, ETIC will be held in Colombia, which is not so rare in itself (although fantastic in January), but in a first for most of us, will tour the former rebel FARC regions, led by former FARC leaders! This is part of an ongoing UN-supported reconciliation process, and we will also have the chance to meet some of the responsible UN officials.
Kolja's decided to open this meeting up a bit, so there are a few spots remaining. And you don't need to have been to 193. You just have to be good company!
If you like the idea of visiting a former no-go zone with the world's top must-go people, just go to the meeting page here and click "I'm interested!"
See you in Bogotá!
