? American Airlines is removing baggage sizers at gates

From now on, if there’s any doubt about a bag’s size, staff will simply trust the passenger. It’s a welcome move for travelers — less stress, faster boarding, and fewer fees for bags with wheels that barely stick out. It also signals more trust and flexibility from the airline. Still, without a physical size check, there’s a risk of inconsistency and operational challenges. It’s a test for the industry: can more trust really improve the travel experience?
 

 ? Trekkers escape from blizzard-struck Everest in Tibet

Rescuers have guided hundreds of trekkers to safety after a blizzard stranded them near the eastern face of Mount Everest in Tibet, Chinese state media reported on Oct 5. By that date, 350 trekkers had reached Qudang township, and contact was established with more than 200 others, according to CCTV. The hikers were visiting the remote Karma Valley during China’s eight-day national holiday.

Covering 18,000 miles across 25 countries, they aim to break three world records. Now in Thailand, they share their journey on social media and say the adventure has strengthened their bond. They hope to finish the trip early next year.
