Hello Everybody, and welcome to 2022! I hope that the new year brings new opportunities for travel to all of us, along with the departure of this pandemic, and its related travel restrictions and cancellations.
At MTP, we continue the recent tradition of updating our master list each New Years, and of consistently dividing the largest countries in the world by area into their constituent regions. This year, we have divided another four countries (Chad, Mongolia, Iran and Peru), such that now we have the Top 20 UN countries divided. With these changes, for the first time, the MTP Master List is over 1000 items long (1013). How many regions did you gain by our New Year's gift to start out 2022?
Over the last two years, we added quite a number of remote islands, island groups and enclaves/exclaves, so I thought we'd give that a rest in 2022 while everyone is still waiting to catch up from Covid. We already have a pretty good geographical accounting of remote islands, island groups and enclaves/exclaves!
